Dense Ceramic Membranes for Fuel Cells

Technology Overview

This technology dramatically increases the ease with which to produce the ceramic tubes used in solid oxide fuel cells. Dense or porous ceramic films can be produced making the anode, cathode and interconnect deposition much easier than currently done. This approach for fabricating tubes eliminates the need for difficult and monetarily intensive deposition processes. This process is easily scaled up and can be used to produce industrially significant tube lengths. Commercial use includes: fuel cells, synthesis gas production and any other process requiring dense or porous ceramic films.
